Chinese taxes are ridiculous.
I was just talking to the owner of a vintage clothes store. He buys his clothes from a Japanese importer of American clothes. The clothes are sent to Hong Kong to avoid China's punishing 30% tax on foreign clothes, run across the border to Shenzhen, then mailed to Beijing.
I just don't get it.
