Someone recently told me that DVDs are often exported from China where they are produced to Hong Kong and then back into China in order to give hollywood companies a better feeling about IP protection. Which, given China's strong import restrictions on media implies something along the lines of "Chinese factories are producing movies that aren't sold in China."
And they wonder why bootlegging is so rampant here.
